When I am tired of my daily life these days, there are times when I want to have time alone. Rather than being comforted by someone, I just want to relax my body and mind in a quiet space.
A few days ago, I went to a one-person massage shop in Cheonho-dong with that feeling.
There are quite a few cozy one-person shops in Cheonho-dong than I thought. A little away from the downtown area, I often see small signs between alleys, one of which caught my eye. Warm lighting and a quiet atmosphere reflected over the curtains. Even in the complex city center, I felt like a space just for me.
When I opened the door, a soft scent spread and the neat interior welcomed me. A therapist who gave me a comfortable impression without saying much guided me. As a one-person shop run by himself, it was a space where there was no loud noise and no one noticed. It was healing in itself.
The massage course was simply chosen as aroma management. After briefly asking about the condition of your body, management began centering on the necessary areas. Each touch was not heavy or light, but it was very natural. I was particularly worried because my shoulders and back tend to clump up often, but they released it meticulously as if they had noticed it even without telling me.
Quiet music, subtle scent, warm touch. The combination brought me a lot deeper relaxation than I thought. It was a short time, but I felt like I could clear my head. I thought I could solve it like this without doing anything special.
When I finished, a cup of tea was prepared. It was a short break, but it was completely for me. As I went back to the streets of Cheonho Station with my lighter body, the bustling scenery felt less burdensome.
The one-person massage shop in Cheonho-dong is not fancy, but it is quiet and warm. It is a place where you hug without saying anything on a day when you are run over by people and your heart is tired. It is a better place to visit at the end of a very normal day than on a special day.
Next time, I want to get a Thai massage or a Swedish massage.
